Dear Friends

Severe Storms, Other Disasters ...
and Caregiving

Prayer Requests

Clearing snow off car

Dear Friends,

A few nights after Monica's death seven years ago this month, I awoke from a half sleep to the sound of strong winds. That was okay. It wasn't all that unusual for the house to lose power in a storm like that but now there was no need for electricity to keep her oxygen machine working.

Yes, the small "travel" tanks were always full and there was a larger one good for 24 hours but ...

I still think of that when power is knocked out.

Caregiving and care-receiving are hard enough every day but the problems, challenges and fears can quickly escalate when there's a severe storm or other disaster.

It's good to keep that in mind when we hear of some area facing a situation like that and to pray for the caregivers and  care-receivers there.

You remain in my prayers.

Bill

This week we're so pleased to welcome Peggy N. of Florida and Kate R. of Pennsylvania as the newest members of the Friends of St. John the Caregiver. Please keep them and their intentions in your prayers. They have promised to pray for you and yours.

And again this week we cordially invite you to join the Friends of St. John the Caregiver! (FSJC's programs include YourAgingParent.com and CatholicCaregivers.com.) You can find out more about becoming a member here.

No meetings, no dues. All we ask is that you pray for caregivers and those receiving care. Our members include caregivers, care-receivers, and those who support both (including quite a few former caregivers).
